Employment Attorney Gerald Maatman To Defend Weinstein Company In Sexual Harassment Lawsuits

New York City - After the recent flurry of sexual harassment lawsuits the Weinstein Company, an independent American film studio founded by Harvey and Bob Weinstein, has hired an high power employment law attorney to represent the company in the sexual harassment suit.

The Seyfarth Shaw law firm attorney, Gerald Maatman is a popular employment law attorney who defends many companies against EEOC claims of employment discrimination and sexual harassment. Filing a motion on early tuesday morning, Maatman sought a dismissal for the class action lawsuit which was filed in December of 2017 by several actresses. Maatman contends that Harvey alone and not the Weinstein Company is at fault and Harvey alone should bare the responsiblity for the sexual harassment class action suit.
“Virtually all of the alleged conduct about which Plaintiffs complain in the Complaint was committed by H. Weinstein, acting alone, between 10 and 25 years ago,” Maatman said.

New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman has also filed an employment discrimination lawsuit against the Weinstein Co. claiming that the Weinstein Company knew of Harvey Weistein's sexual harassment, but did not act to protect the employees affected by his egregious behavior. The Board at the Weinstein Company fired Harvey Weinstein in October of 2017 after the New York Times uncovered numerous sexual harassment allegations.
